VITASIGNS Patient Communications

VITASIGNS uses SMS text messages and email to support people enrolled in VITASIGNS services and programs. These communications help support care operations, service delivery, account activity, and follow-up communication related to enrolled services.

Types of Messages You May Receive

If you enroll to receive communications from VITASIGNS, you may receive:

  • Appointment reminders
  • Device battery and connectivity alerts
  • RPM and CCM care notifications
  • Billing notifications
  • Care team follow-ups

These messages are intended to support operational, service, and care-related communication connected to the services you requested or enrolled in.

Message frequency varies based on your enrollment and care needs, typically up to 10 messages per month.

How You Opt In

People opt in to receive SMS messages through a VITASIGNS enrollment workflow that requests a mobile phone number and presents a separate consent checkbox before SMS enrollment is completed. The consent disclosure appears at the point where the mobile number is collected so a reviewer can verify the call to action and consent language on the live page or enrollment form.

The consent checkbox text shown at enrollment reads exactly as follows:

"I agree to receive SMS text messages from VITASIGNS about appointments, device alerts, RPM and CCM care notifications, billing updates, and care team follow-ups. Message frequency varies based on your enrollment and care needs, typically up to 10 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for support. Consent is not a condition of receiving any healthcare services."

The checkbox is unchecked by default.

How To Opt Out

Reply STOP to any message to opt out of SMS communications from VITASIGNS.

After you reply STOP, you will receive one final confirmation message confirming that you have been unsubscribed from SMS messages. After that, no further SMS messages will be sent unless you later re-enroll or provide new consent.

Opting out of SMS does not disenroll the patient from clinical care. If a person opts out of text messages, VITASIGNS or the treating provider may still use other permitted channels for care operations, scheduling, billing, or required service communications.

Supported Carriers

Supported carriers include AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and other major US carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Delivery depends on effective transmission by your wireless carrier and network availability.

Privacy Commitment

VITASIGNS does not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or consent records with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. Information is used solely to deliver the requested communications and to operate the services you have enrolled in.

VITASIGNS may use service providers that support communications infrastructure and service operations, subject to applicable contractual and privacy obligations.

Email Communications

VITASIGNS may send transactional emails related to appointments, service updates, billing activity, support, and care coordination. These transactional emails are operational in nature and may still be sent when necessary to suppot active services.

If VITASIGNS sends promotional emails, those emails will include an unsubscribe mechanism. You may opt out of promotional emails by using the unsubscribe link in the email.

HIPAA and SMS Notice

SMS is not encrypted. Patients should not transmit detailed clinical information via SMS.

If a person needs to share sensitive or detailed health information, that person should use a more secure communication method offered by the provider or care team.
